Sharon Cheung Po-Wah is a veteran Hong Kong journalist, she obtained her BA degree of Journalism and Communication at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Cheung is also fellow of the Reuters Institute for Journalism at the University of Oxford, as well as the founder of “Lion Rock Fellowship” at the University of Oxford.
In 2022, Cheung received her Bachelor of Fine Arts (Painting) at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT), graduated with first class honors. She also received the Dean List Award and the Boon Lee Award. Cheung is now the director of a local gallery, SC gallery.
Cheung has an impressive exhibition history, including notable solo shows such as “色繪。女人世界” at Gallery by the Harbour in 2016, “一點點的美好” at Wheelock Lounge in 2019, and “Our Time” curated by herself at SC Gallery in 2022. In addiction, “Our Time” series was awarded the prestigious “Art for Change” Asia Winner and showcased in the exhibition at Saatchi Gallery in London from 2022 to 2023.
Cheung has also participated group exhibitions, including “Who we know and we don’t know” at am space in 2022. In 2023, Cheung collaborated with Jeremy Fung Mang Chung in the overseas group exhibition “Inhale Courage” held at JPS Gallery in Paris. Additionally, Cheung demonstrates her commitment to supporting emerging artists. For example, she curated “The City Never Sleeps” at Abu Dhabi Art Fair 2023, featuring artists Jeremy Fung, Jacky Tao, and Ann Ng. The Royal Family has become a patron of SC Gallery,
