BEADMAN, Kay

Kay Mei Ling Beadman was born in England of mixed Chinese and English heritage. She has a BFA from the University of Reading, UK, an MFA from RMIT, Australia, and is currently a PhD candidate at the School of Creative Media, City University of Hong Kong. She is particularly interested in exploring the complexity of dual identity through the presence of the body. Her practice is multidisciplinary and includes painting, text, video and installation. Since 1999, Kay has lived and worked in Hong Kong. In 2017 she co-founded the artist-run initiative, Hidden Space. She has exhibited in Australia, China, Hong Kong, Serbia, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka and the UK.

Hidden Space
Hidden Space

Hidden Space is an artist run initiative presenting experimental contemporary art practice from local and international artists and curators, with a particular emphasis on location and site. Our non-commercial space is located in an industrial building in Kwai Hing, Hong Kong. Hidden Space opened in January 2017.  

We are open to proposals and ideas.
