劉珮瑤 LAU, Pui Yiu Alice

WLau Pui Yiu Alice, born in Hong Kong, graduated from RMIT University, BA of Fine Arts, major in Painting.
Alice’s paintings are inspired by observations from urban space. She depicts elements of cityscape to create a fictional dreamily places. In the painting, she can escapes from reality temporarily and express her thoughts and emotions.
Alice mainly uses oil paint and acrylic as materials of her works. Her painting style is expressive, therefore strong brushstrokes and colors are noticeably found in her works. She sees paintings as a way of self-reflection and communication.
劉珮瑤，生於香港，主修繪畫，於二零零九年獲澳洲皇家墨爾本理工大學頒授藝術文學學位。
劉的作品主要從城市景觀取材，以拼湊的方式，創造一個虛構的空間。在這些虛構的空間中，劉試圖繪畫心靈的岀口，一個可以暫時逃離現實的地方，抒發和理清情緒。人們生活中的困惑與想像，各種存在的狀態，也是她所關注的題材。劉主要以油彩和塑膠彩作為媒介，因受到表現主義影響，以強調筆觸、色彩方式，描繪富有情感的景像。劉藉着繪畫的過程中自我觀察，亦相信透過畫作可使心靈得到釋放，與外界達到共嗚。
