Dialogue with Hong Kong Soil

It’s our honor to have the co-founder of ‘Hong Kong Soil’ Niko Leung and Ivan Valin, Head of Division and Associate Professor of Practice, Division of Landscape Architecture, Faculty of Architecture, The University of Hong Kong, joining our seminar with Artist Carol Lee.

Niko @_nikoleung and Carol @carolleemeikuen will talk about their creativity experiences by using soil from Hong Kong’s construction sites. Other than the difficulties and findings, they will also share the view and meaning of our soil. Ivan is co-directing a research project, TAL-L, which is a database and teaching tool for landscape materials. He is going to bring up his professional analysis on the body of materials. Each speaker carries different approaches and studies of Hong Kong soil, this seminar wishes to show the diversity of this raw material.

與香港原生土對談

研討會很榮幸邀請了「香港土磚」創辦人梁康勤女士以及香港大學建築學院園境建築學部實務副教授暨主管Ivan Valin與藝術家李美娟一同分享對香港泥土的認識。

梁康勤和李美娟將會談及以香港地盤泥作創作的經驗與過程。除了涉及當中遇到的困難和發現，亦希望分享對自己城市泥土的見解及其意義。Ivan Valin 主理的研究項目TAL-L以地質原料作專業記錄和教學。他將會以地質學分析角度與大家交流。各講者在不同領域上對香港泥土有著各自的追求，研討會希望令觀眾加深認識其多元性。
