FONG, Argus
FONG Tsz Leong, Argus, received his BA (Fine Art) degrees from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) University in 2015, major in painting. His painting is like a collection of piecemeal fragments in his everyday life. It’s like a collection of seemingly unrelated bits and parts as in a photomontage, in incongruous relationship for their symbolic or suggestive effects.
His paintings are genuine and realistic in some senses, but to an extend they express the feeling of unfamiliarity. His paintings are like a medium for him to express his unconscious mind, i.e. his interpretations on identities and human natures. Most of his works are oil paintings on wasted wood slabs in recent years, that are characterised by his expressive linear brushstrokes.
