Born in Hong Kong, Carol Lee started her studies of Chinese painting in 1983. She graduated from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) University in 2001 (programme co-presented with Hong Kong Art School) with a BA (Fine Arts) and was elected a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society (RMIT Chapter) in the same year. In 2007, Lee received her Master of Fine Arts from RMIT University (co-presented with Hong Kong Art School). Her works are collected by the Philippe Charriol Foundation, Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung Foundation of Germany, Lviv Glass Museum in Ukraine, M+ Museum, Hong Kong Heritage Museum, Hong Kong Arts Centre and other private collectors.

校友藝術家李美娟Carol Lee 的個展【維城淨土】已於9/12在香港藝術學院藝廊開幕

“香港原生土”是Carol 這次展覽的主軸，透過研究與探索不同地點採集的土壤，連結城市的歷史和故事。並以多種媒介和展示方式，揭示藝術家作為居住者、也是觀察者和創作者，與城市之間的微妙關係。

李美娟個展—「維城淨土」

展覽源於藝術家李美娟在太平山與地盤叔叔的對談—「這些是香港原生土，從來未被移動過。」 地盤叔叔說著。

在變化萬千的維多利亞港之下，竟然還有從未變動過的泥土一直陪伴著港人。這一點打動了李美娟並開始了今次的創作概念。李美娟在太平山不同地段的地盤收集泥土，透過硏究與探索，得知土壤的顏色與特性。再運用自己的藝術語言，希望從原生土中尋找土與地的關係。

ArtTravellers Exhibition Series III: Tracing along the Green Blades

Featuring two local artists, Carol Lee Mei-kuen and Trevor Yeung, the exhibition shows their unique travelogue of gleanings. Working in different media, Lee and Yeung both take inspiration from a wide variety of exotic plant gathered during their travels and re-express them in personalised artistic forms. Involving botanic observations and discoveries of natural origins, the transformation process creates new artistic idioms and opens up a universal panorama.

The solid heat of summer came early in May this year, which however, reminds me of the once-a-year graduation show that I have been longed for.

It has been 20 years since the Bachelor of Arts programme established in 1998, co-organizes by Hong Kong Art School and RMIT University, with over 700 graduates. Apart from their personal development, their achievements have also gained attention and in different art fields. They made every endeavor for the development and promotion of art in Hong Kong, and brought changes and vitality to local art scene.

藝術貨櫃計劃美麗旅程．美麗世界 Art Container - Beautiful Journey, Beautiful World

香港的維多利亞港被譽為全球其中一個最重要的海港，貨櫃運輸業的重要性無可置疑。但對於一個個鐵造的貨櫃，除了裝貨之外，還有什麼用呢？純粹獨立藝術家群（MIA）於5月16至18日在西九龍海濱長廊舉行「藝術貨櫃啟航展覽」，展出37個充滿藝術色彩的貨櫃，同時賦予貨櫃「香港藝術大使」的身份，四出宣揚香港藝術。MIA為這37個原本一式一樣的貨櫃添上色彩，注入信息，宣揚香港藝術。然而，在整個製作過程中，MIA亦遇到很多難題，他們是如何一一破解呢？這個計劃又能為香港藝術工作者帶來什麼啟示呢？在此，特別邀請計劃副召集人兼參與藝術家李美娟（Carol）接受訪問。
