Curated by Kong Chun Nga, Kitty

So I say, “It’s a landscape painting.” is an exhibition by six Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) alumni who are from the class of 2017, majored in painting. As enthusiastic painters, the exhibition showcases their ongoing investigation into the role of painting in the construction of a unique language. From scribbling of everyday thoughts, photos to paintings, the artists disclose their personal narratives bound up with their own biography, revealing events, dreams or emotional states.

Whereas the paratext of the exhibition hints upon the generic idea of “landscape painting”, the curator has written a note for guidance:

Once the painting is completed, death begins; “it” will sink endlessly and dissolve in the cold shards of ultramarine, which is infinite.
Some infer that the shards must contain an absolute sky. I prefer to dream that the surface represents a world reduced to a smooth vertical surface, like a slab of opaque glass. And when you look through the glass, you shall see birds singing as if they are hiccuping in a blue forest.
Now you might ask what is “it” to be exact, but to speak of it is to refuse. So I say, “It’s a landscape painting.”
—Kong Chun Nga, Kitty

So I say, "It's a landscape painting."

Interdimensional Portal—Jessica Chan & Haze the Human

We have successfully invented interdimensional travel.

Chinese flower cannons are traditional paper sculptures that invite the gods from heaven to the village and bestow their blessing upon us. The original goal of this exhibition was to showcase this traditional art craft and wishes that the gods can free the world from disease, hunger, war and disasters.

But if we can ask the gods to come to our realm through this device, could we do it the other way around and visit their dimension? This question drives us to dig deeper and look into the mechanic and science behind this paper craft, and we found the answer.

This is an exhibition of traditional and cutting edge future tech installations. This is also an extra-terrestrial polaroid NFT exhibition.

Solo Exhibition by Lee Boon Ying

Over the past couple of years, Boon’s artwork is practically made out of found objects and cardboard. In particular, the latter is a material that is recyclable and environmentally friendly. It also alludes to trade and globalization, and can be related to social issues such as inequality and rights if we think of old people making a pittance out of collecting cardboard on the street. As an art material it has a rich palette and can display lines and directions, lending a fresh angle of view and perception of extra space.

自源作-_auto.mob-Poster_EDM-Banner-1536x833.jpg

The architect is the origin, or their creations lead them to the primordial root?

“Create” a word which cannot be separated with art, and who is the first creator? Who is the author? Those are some of the hardest questions throughout art history and for mankind. In the time when disciplines cross their border, cooperating with each other, more and more new technologies emerge, which mostly benefits the ability to create for mankind. However the answer of those questions still remains unsolved, even raising more questions coherently.

We comprehend and examine theories from the universe with a head full of doubts ,then integrate them as different disciplines of knowledge and by that we successfully achieve several technological miracles for production. Logic and Concept are the only manual works left for architects, the machine can take all the other parts of work. In this context, it is suspended about who is the creator after the button was pushed. In a highly randomized and chaotic digital environment, all the premade programs are sensitive and easily affected by data. During the machine export the finished item, architect becomes audience. They are responsible for log data and correct the source code over and over. This is us as creations who search from the existential matter with a sense of demigod.

The “Auto.mob” exhibition reflects the origin of civilization and the relationship between architect and autonomous. Generating interactive experience with symbolic visual images, composing a micro landscape with interactions from autonomous agents. Construct a digital phenomenon with reinforcement learning method, record a narrative within a period of runtime. The architect cultivates a result, analysis by their creation. Came to the conclusion that a structure without solid formula and a space performing variations.
